The Eight Mile Plains Satellite Health Centre (Maroo-goodji-ba) is a new $65.4 million healthcare facility delivered as part of the Queensland Government’s pioneering Satellite Hospitals Program, designed to provide faster access to essential healthcare services closer to home for Brisbane’s growing southern communities. Officially opened in May 2024, the facility includes a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic with onsite medical imaging, kidney dialysis services, cancer day therapy, outpatient clinics and allied health services. Designed by Fulton Trotter Architects in collaboration with Architectus Conrad Gargett and constructed by Hutchinson Builders, the hospital combines contemporary healthcare design with strong connections to Country and First Nations cultural elements, creating a welcoming environment focused on wellness, healing and community care.

Gerflor Australia played a key role in supporting the hospital’s hygiene, safety, durability and performance requirements through the supply of a comprehensive flooring and wall protection solution across multiple clinical and public spaces. Bright Start Childcare & Early Learning Centres developed a new purpose-built early learning centre in Warrnambool to help address significant demand for childcare places in the region. The facility was designed to provide high-quality early childhood education and care within a modern learning environment. The centre accommodates up to 148 children and features engaging indoor and outdoor spaces that support children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

Gerflor’s Taralay Impression Acoustic was installed throughout key learning and circulation areas, providing a durable flooring solution designed for high-traffic educational environments. Combining long-term performance with contemporary aesthetics, the flooring helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere while offering excellent resistance to daily wear. Its low-maintenance surface supports efficient cleaning and high standards of hygiene, while the acoustic foam backing enhances underfoot comfort for children and reduces noise transfer, contributing to a quieter and more comfortable learning environment.

In wet and high-risk areas, Tarasafe Ultra safety flooring was specified to enhance underfoot safety and reduce the risk of slips. Delivering reliable slip resistance without compromising ease of cleaning or maintenance, Tarasafe Ultra provides an ideal solution for spaces subject to moisture exposure and frequent use.

The flooring package was complemented by Mural Plus 2mm Wall Vinyl.

Today, in a world where change is constant and careers often take many different paths, 30 years with one organisation is a remarkable milestone worth reflecting on and celebrating.

Recently we had the pleasure of celebrating our Marketing Director, Jutta Fronert, on 30 years with Gerflor Australasia

There are people who work for a company and then there are people who become part of its legacy. Jutta is very much part of Gerflor’s.

She has seen Gerflor evolve, grow and adapt over three decades and has played an important role in that journey. She knows the business inside out and over the years so many of us have leaned on her for her expertise, experience and genuine passion for flooring. Along the way, she has built friendships, shared laughs and collected stories with colleagues past and present.

Congratulations, Jutta, on this remarkable milestone. Thank you for your dedication, leadership and the positive impact you continue to have on both our business and our people.
