To find out whether sending a file by pigeon would be faster than uploading it through their slow ADSL internet connection. The result was as surprising as it was telling: the bird won.

The pigeon, named Winston, was fitted with a 4GB memory stick and released from Pietermaritzburg, bound for the company’s office in Durban—around 60 miles away. He completed the journey in just over two hours. Meanwhile, the same 4GB file sent via the company's ADSL service had only managed to transfer about 4% in that same time.
