just a PSA on Commbank practices, after having multiple accounts including a business account with them for over 10 years, i have seen first hand the profits over people play out.
I was paying a $2.99 email hosting fee and was over charged to the tune of $2388.07
Contacted CB immediately and advised, they say they cant cancel a pending transaction.
I cancelled my card and had it replaced.
This then turned out to have been a scam email, i did authorize the transaction BUT for ONLY $2.99
During the process of trying to resolve this , my personal card was hit with 3 charges that were scams from rydo.com,
whilst i was in the branch trying to sort the larger amount, the Lady helping me makes a call and has all 3 pending charged canceled.
So after 4 branch visits and over 7 calls, 9 hours plus of my time,
CB has basically said that even though i thought i was paying $2.99 and $2388.07 was taken, They can not give me back my money less the authorized amount of $2.99.
They have offered my just $550 to close the issue and move on.
Some may think well its better than nothing right, well after you hear they are on track to make OVER $5 BILLION in profits this year i think its just case in point that they don't value anything but a $.
I have now changed banks and advice if you feel you were in this position and had the same result as me would you be happy with that service.
If not move banks asap, Because scammers are getting better and better and its only a matter of time before you your self maybe sitting in this very situation with a larger amount that will be lost, and its not a nice feeling knowing that a bank you trusted for 10+ years to wipe there hands of you.
