🤝🪵 Great catching up with the team from Hyne Timber over lunch recently.

For more than 30 years, they've been supplying the timber that helps us manufacture frames, floor systems, and roof trusses for builders across South East Queensland. It's partnerships like these that remind us how important strong relationships are in our industry.

Based in Maryborough, Queensland, they are recognised as one of the world's most efficient plantation timber manufacturers, helping supply quality Australian-grown timber for homes and communities across our region. From forest to frame, it's a local, renewable resource that supports Australian jobs, regional communities, and sustainable building practices. 🇦🇺🌱

We're also excited for our upcoming mill tour, where we'll get to see firsthand the journey our timber takes before arriving at ATT and eventually becoming part of homes across the region.

Thanks again to the team at Hyne Timber for the hospitality and support over the years. Here's to continuing a great partnership well into the future. 🍻🪵

🪵🌡️ Timber Supports Thermal Performance

Unlike materials that readily transfer heat and cold, timber is a natural insulator, helping homes stay comfortable year-round and reducing the need for excessive heating and cooling.

A smarter choice for energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term performance.

It’s Week 5 – Let’s Put Timber Back in the Conversation!

🌲 Timber Supports Thermal Performance

Good thermal performance begins with material choice.

Timber's natural insulating properties help maintain comfortable indoor temperatures, reducing the need for heating and cooling. That means lower energy use over the life of the building - good for occupants, and good for the planet.

For the frame and truss sector, this is more than a talking point - it's a specification advantage. Timber-framed homes benefit from timber's low thermal conductivity compared to alternatives.
For manufacturers, this translates into a genuine value proposition when working with builders and designers: specifying timber frame and truss systems isn't just a structural decision, it's an energy-performance one - helping homes meet increasingly stringent thermal performance requirements under the National Construction Code. By maintaining consistent thermal efficiency across the life of the home, timber framed construction supports lower environmental impact (less emissions and demands of power to heat and cool the property throughout its life), while keeping homes more comfortable and affordable to heat and cool for the homeowner.

Together with WoodSolutions we're helping industry talk about timber with confidence.

After more than 40 years with ATT, it's time to say farewell to a true ATT legend, Steve "Robbo" Robbins.

Robbo's journey began with Coastal Valley Timbers in 1977 before joining Tom's Trusses in 1982. Starting in the yard loading trucks, pulling orders, and making deliveries, he eventually moved into sales, where he spent the rest of his career building relationships and supporting builders across South East Queensland.

Over the years, Robbo has seen the Gold Coast transform, watched the industry evolve, and played a part in helping ATT grow into the business it is today. From paper plans and public phone boxes to the digital world we work in now, he's seen it all.

When asked about his favourite memories, it wasn't projects or milestones that came to mind first. It was the people, the friendships built over the years, the customers, the laughs, and of course, the ATT golf days. ⛳

Robbo's loyalty, knowledge, and genuine care for both customers and colleagues have left a lasting mark on ATT, and he will be missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Thank you Robbo, for over four decades of dedication, friendship, and service. We wish you all the very best for this next chapter. Enjoy the slower pace, the warm weather, and everything Bali has to offer. You've certainly earned it. 🌴🍻

Week 4 - Let's Put Timber Back in the Conversation.

Timber-framed homes aren't just built for today, they're built for generations.

Timber is Built to Last 🏠♻️

Week 4 - Let's Put Timber Back in the Conversation.

Timber is Built to Last 🏡

Performance is measured over the life of a building. When properly designed, built and maintained, timber-framed buildings can achieve a service life of at least 50 years, continuing to perform for generations.

For frame and truss manufacturers, that long-term performance starts well before a frame arrives on site. Precision design, engineering and manufacturing all contribute to structural timber systems that are made to perform reliably throughout the life of a building.

Australia's frame and truss sector combines timber's proven performance with increasingly sophisticated manufacturing technology and expertise. It means the homes we're framing today aren't simply about meeting Australia's immediate housing needs - they're about creating quality, enduring homes that can serve Australian families and communities for generations.

This is Week 4 of 14 – Let's Put Timber Back in the Conversation, helping our industry share a consistent message about why timber remains such an important building material for Australia's future.

Throwback Thursday 📸

Take a look back at these photos from the 1980s, when the Gold Coast was still finding its feet and growth across Southeast Queensland was only just getting started. 🌞🏠

For decades, ATT has supplied timber frames and trusses that have helped build homes and communities across the region. Many of those homes are still standing strong today, highlighting the durability and longevity of quality timber construction. 💪🪵

As building materials have changed over the years, timber continues to stand out as a renewable resource that not only lasts for generations but also stores carbon throughout its life. While the origin of many modern building products can be difficult to trace, Australian-grown timber offers confidence in knowing exactly where your materials come from. It's a resource that's helped build Southeast Queensland for decades and continues to support a more sustainable future. 🌱♻️

Timber stores carbon 🪵♻️

Timber stores carbon

Every timber building starts storing carbon long before construction begins.

As trees grow, they absorb carbon from the atmosphere and store it within their wood fibre. When used in buildings, that carbon remains locked away for the life of the building.

ATT Structural Steel Solutions

Once the detailing and planning are complete, it's time to see the project come to life.

For this project in Labrador, the steel was fabricated, carefully stencilled and labelled, and then loaded for delivery to site. This process helps ensure every component arrives organised and ready for installation, making things easier for builders on site.

Through our partnership with Metro Steel, we're helping bring structural steel and timber framing together as one coordinated solution. The goal is simple: make the building process easier through better planning, smoother deliveries, and improved coordination between trades, helping projects run more efficiently from start to finish.

Today we celebrate Peter Beverland. 👏

Peter has been part of the ATT family since 1978, and for more than 25 years, he has led the business as CEO.

Over the years, Peter has seen it all, the challenges, changes, highs and lows. Through it all, he has shown incredible commitment to ATT and the people who make it what it is today.

Yesterday, Peter, Tom Donohue and a few of our senior managers got together for a final lunch to reflect on the many great times and memories shared over the years. It was a chance to look back on the journey, including the early days when Australian Timber & Trusses was known as Tom’s Trusses.

We also want to recognise Peter’s wife and children, who have been by his side throughout the journey. Their love, support and encouragement have played a huge part in Peter’s career, and his achievements are something they can all be incredibly proud of. ❤️

Thank you, Peter, for nearly five decades of dedication, leadership and memories.
