Tackling the quirks of older D-Max transmissions 💡

Older Isuzu D-Max AC60 models come with mechanical gear shifting, which can make smooth driving a bit tricky. Lash, valve body quirks, and fast shifts sometimes result in knocks that can catch you off guard.

The fix isn’t just turning things down, it’s about linearising the line pressure control so the shifts happen smoothly and predictably.

Sometimes you only notice an issue once you feel it on the road.

During this run, the transmission pulled a skip shift it wasn’t meant to make. It still drove, but it didn’t feel right. That slight hesitation, the flare between gears, it all adds up when you’re behind the wheel.

We ran through a 5 to 3 downshift after and you can hear the difference straight away. Much smoother, more controlled, and closer to how it should behave once properly dialled in.

It’s a good reminder that even solid hardware needs the right tuning to match.

Nitrous kits on diesels?

No problem, our TCU's and ECU's (which are base kits from BCS) can control all your n2o needs.

Its a much safer DIY install compared to what its like on gas/petrol vehicles.

Its very forgiving and its "easy" power, for when you want it!

Yes this is installed on a 4jj3 engine conversion :)
