Great day out in the water yesterday with and gus burns. Getting amongst the tuna. Had to cover a lot of miles to find the fish but Gus found them for us and we managed to get five on the deck letting a little jellybean go.

Few shots from yesterdays trip out catching local crayfish in our hoop nets. Had Tony from out for the day. Got him on a couple of crays and some fish. I managed to stuff up the net shot on a small thresher shark Tony caught. But was an Awsome day in glamour conditions. Saw a school of tuna also but couldn’t get them to eat.

Awsome morning offshore today. Getting 4 cray fairly quickly in our hoop nets. Including one that held on to the underside of the pot all the way to the surface and long enough for me to grab it and get it in the boat. Then a quick run out to a reef in 50m where the snapper were going nuts. After a few drifts and a few lost fish we had our bag and were packing up to head home by 11. Then cray on the bbq for dinner.

Getting pumped for Cray season opener. This is a donkey we missed earlier this year. For reference the rings are 750mm across. Pushing 5kg???

Made use of the rubbish weather and got a batch of cray pots (hoop nets) made up for southern rock lobster season. These are available for sale. If you’re I treated send us a message. 175 for the soft mesh base. 210 for the galvanized mesh bottom. We can also make stainless steel ones to order.

Snuck out for a midweek fish in cracking conditions today. Picked up a mixed bag of fish including these two in the 12-15kg range
