Chris and Steve contacted me to weigh their rig recently. The conversation soon developed to “Would you mind weighing our travel buddies Stuart and Perry at the same time??” I said “Sure can” and we had our first Weigh Ahead Th*****me!! We had a great afternoon, lots of banter, fun learnings and 3 rigs weight safe and ready for the road!

IS YOUR BOAT SAFE AND WEIGHT COMPLIANT FOR A LONG ROAD TRIP ???

Andy was heading up north for a fishing adventure and decided to contact Weigh Ahead for a full tow car and boat trailer weight assessment for his peace of mind before leaving.
The most common safety issue I have found with boat trailers is the Tow Ball Weight. A boat trailer will be "light on the ball" if a lot of payload is at the rear of the boat - the outboard engine, tackle boxes, fuel or water, food and drinks.
If the Tow Ball Weight is less than 8% of the ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) the trailer will be prone to sway on the highway, the most unsafe condition for towing.
A full weight assessment will easily identify this and help you re-balance your load for safe and trouble-free towing. Message me if you would like to know more.

TOWING SOMETHING SPECIAL?

Do you have peace of mind towing your baby? Is your weight is safely distributed on your trailer?

Weigh Ahead recently performed a full weight assessment for Joe who wanted to be sure his beautiful 1960 EK Holden was loaded correctly on his car trailer. Firstly he asked if he was legal on road in respect to the trailer’s ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass). Secondly he wanted to know if his car was loaded correctly for towing safety. The positioning of the car forward or back on the trailer has a huge effect on the TBM (Tow Ball Mass). Getting the Tow Ball Weight assessment enabled Joe to be sure his car was correctly loaded to ensure his TBM was within the recommended 8-12% of ATM for safe driving.

All sorted and good to go Joe!

It was a pleasure to meet Adam today and weigh his rig for compliance and safety before he heads out on a central QLD road trip.
