A lot of the pedals are getting minor facelifts. Moving away from UV printing, towards these plates for artwork labelling.

These should be more durable than ever - helping your pedal hold up to a lifetime of use and abuse.

It also comes as a business decision, of course. As being only one person, it’s a struggle to keep up with customers. This reduces labour and increases consistency, short and long term.

You could imagine it’s a dream to build every aspect of the pedal yourself, intricately, by hand. But after having thousands of customers, I’m happier now to focus more on circuits designs. Otherwise, I’d have to bring on staff. Which would mean human error. Not worth it.

I feel this makes the older pedals already out there even more special to keep and trade. Thanks to everybody who’s tried them along the journey. It’s been an actual thing.

Here’s how the final production is looking for the Big Fuzz Consoles.

The initial response from *one* photo was the largest I have ever had for any project. By a landslide. I took 20x preorders at a discounted rate to help get the ball rolling. Most of those have now posted out, with the last scheduled to post this month. Thank you!!

I paused after 20, as I needed to restock parts (and so did the distributors) and also reassess that I’m not biting off more than I can chew and deliver on. These are really involved builds, with no real room for human error to build. They’ve been keeping me fully engaged, to put it lightly.

Due to ongoing requests to get on the build queue, I’ve made them available again on the website now ;)

Finished this last night. Anxiety of getting everything correct was very real. You know those things you think about when you’re in the toilet? In the shower? Trying to fall asleep? It’s just been this. Idiot-checking, and visualising every mistake I could make.

I still can’t describe how amazing this is. It’s at a point where I don’t feel like I should bother continuing with the other regular m**f builds. This is so much better. There are so many single controls which instantly justify the extra versatility.

With this tool, you can dial-in every variable from the different models of history. Mix and match as you like. Hot swap transistors to A/B test on the fly. Sculpt the scoop shape of your tone stack.

Think you’ve got a special ear for tone? Then your best-ever version m**f is definitely in here. You have to find it.

Just want to get this teaser out pronto, as I’m keen to put them into production asap. Will have a play with this for a bit first, of course.

Production models are planned for a raw metal case with a plate for the control panel labels. They’ll have increased readability of all the tiny text labels.

The hardware overheads are MASSIVE. And so is the labour. It’ll only work if I do them in bulk. Working out the sell price. I’m thinking I might do a reduced “pre-order” sale direct-to-customer for the first round to help start things up. This would be a first for me. Maybe there could be a way to make the first 10 special?

I forgot there was a “crackle okay” OG version Germanium Amplifier.

Not long back, I had a think. I had this really decent stretch where I had plenty of work on. Was working hard doing the extra hours. Feeling good, getting things done, and getting rewarded for it. No usual hiccups or difficult custom designs. So it was maybe the first time I'd ever seen everything running as smoothly as I could daydream it to.

It’s been my interest to collect all the fancy bits which make the pedals actually unique. Like, there are so many old variations of Tsuchi Fuzzes out there which still amazes me that I had any part in creating. Knowing there are thousands of my pedals floating around the world which I hand-built, I feel that I can say I have ticked that box now, in life.

Each one, I looked at what worked well. And even more at what didn’t. I never focused on big batches, which would have been more efficient ($), because I’d *always* be working on ideas in the background for how to improve the next ones. I’m happy with where I’m at, and can’t imagine any other way to have gotten here.

There’s no final nail in the coffin. It’s a long list of straws which fu**ed the camel’s back.

If it’s not doing what I want, then I’d like to find a way to work on the things I love most. Like, I have a long to-do list of designs which are 85% there. I have projects for friends which have been sitting here for years. That bugs me every time I open a new project to work on something else to try to make money. Hoping to get onto these things.

These things need investment, though, and the only person who’s gonna invest is me. Which means, throttling pedals back. At least, for now. I'm grateful to so many decent people who have helped along the way.

Last pics. It can do a stock rat fuzz-distortion, but the ‘hair’ control is a variable version of the ruetz mod, and *really* dials the circuit in.
