The timber rescue of Trinity Catholic College, Lismore. 🪵

A big shout out to the local legends at for taking the time and care to salvage these beautiful Australian hardwoods from this historic site.

Instead of ending up in landfill, these old-growth timbers have been preserved for a second life in new projects across the Northern Rivers. Great to see local businesses helping keep valuable resources in circulation and a little piece of Lismore's history alive.

Some timber gets written off…a.fernandez saw something else entirely.

This rustic side table started life as offcuts most people wouldn’t look twice at — now it’s all character, texture, and quiet strength.

That’s the thing about reclaimed hardwood…
given the right hands, it doesn’t just get reused — it gets remembered.

A nice example of how flexible reclaimed hardwood can be. This project used our decking in a slightly different way—run vertically as cladding for an entrance gate and outdoor BBQ area. The result is something warm, textured, and full of depth that you just don’t get with new materials. Designed and styled by a client with a great eye, and already making its way into photoshoots and an upcoming feature in Home Beautiful. This was a little while back now, but we had Gabe in the workshop over a few weeks building this stool from reclaimed hardwood. Spent a bit of time going through some joinery and finishing along the way—just taking it step by step and figuring it out as we went. He took his time with it, paid attention to the details, and saw it through properly from start to finish.

We really enjoyed having him around and were stoked with how it turned out. Always good to be involved with the local community.

We hooked our good mate Jezza up with an absolute beast of a Sydney Blue Gum slab for the new fit-out of , opening soon in Brunswick Heads.

He brought in the wizard himself who transformed it into something seriously special — hand-shaped, pitted with texture, and finished to a rich, rust-like patina… complete with a cheeky love heart carved into the top loop ❤️

Old-growth timber, reborn as functional art.
