Modern Transport Engineers Australia Pty Ltd is a proud subsidiary company of Modern Transport Engineers (2002) Ltd. Modern Transport Engineers Ltd was founded in Hamilton, New Zealand in 1973 by Managing Director Robin Ratcliffe. Colleen, Robin’s wife of over forty years joined the firm in 1974 as secretary. They have two sons Michael and Zane and several grandchildren. Michael and Zane Ratcliffe
joined MTE in the late 80’s. Zane is currently design engineer and MTE Manager; and Michael is MTE Australia Pty Ltd Director based in Tingalpa, Brisbane. The ever growing desire for MTE trailers continued in Australia. The booming mining industry saw our trailers stand up to the test and perform under the harshest conditions. This has created exciting challenges and allowed MTE even more experience in making durable lasting trailers that get the job done. MTE Australia established the Brisbane office in 2009 because of an expansive and consistent Australian clientele base. It is through these offices that MTE has been able to establish themselves in the Australian market, and become a leader in the industry.
