Our Burleigh internal door in our customer’s beautiful Airbnb, 🚪✨

With its clean shaker profile and timeless proportions, the Burleigh works effortlessly across so many interior styles - from modern and transitional to farmhouse, Hamptons and coastal homes. 🤍

One of the benefits of its solid-core construction is the flexibility it gives during installation. For this project, the carpenter was able to trim 50mm from the bottom to suit the step-up into the bathroom, giving it a really neat, custom-looking finish.

Oaklands 1 Lite Door 🚪✨

This door was part of our Modern Farmhouse build 10 years ago, and at the time we paid a small fortune to have it custom made, before I started the door business.

Fast forward to today, and that same design is now part of our standard Front Porch Doors range as the Oaklands 1 Lite. 🤍

Inspired by our popular Oaklands door, it features classic VJ panelling and shaker styling, but with one single generous pane of glass (with no glazing bars) for a cleaner, more streamlined look. 😍

It has all the warmth and character of the original Oaklands, with a slightly more contemporary feel that works beautifully across modern farmhouse, coastal, country and contemporary homes. 🏡

Can you paint your front door black? 🚪🖤

You can, but it’s worth considering how exposed your door is first. 💯

Very dark colours, including black, absorb more heat, so they’re not recommended for external timber doors that receive a lot of direct sun. This extra heat can dry out the timber and increase its natural movement, increasing the risk of bowing, twisting or warping over time.

If you’re hoping to paint your front door a dark colour, good overhead protection and protection from direct sun and the elements is essential. 👍

FAQ: Can Breeze doors be used as French doors? 🚪✨

Yes, two Breeze doors can be used together in a French door configuration. 💯

It’s a lovely option if you love the look and functionality of the Breeze but have a wider opening to work with. 😍

Typically with normal French doors, one door remains fixed with top and bottom latches, while the other is used as the main operable door.

We recommend opening the Breeze glass panels on the fixed door and leaving the panels closed on the door you regularly open and close. This keeps things simple and avoids having too many moving parts at once. 🙌🏻

There’s a reason French doors have stood the test of time. 🤍

French doors are simply two doors, hinged on either side and meeting in the middle - and we love them for their timeless look, versatility and ability to create a beautiful wide opening.

Compared to sliders, stackers or bifolds, French doors can also be a more affordable way to create a generous opening, while giving your home a much more classic feel.

They’re perfect for both exterior and interior applications- connecting living spaces to patios, decks and gardens, creating beautiful front or side entries, or connecting interior spaces such as dining rooms, family rooms, playrooms and home offices while still providing the option for separation.

To create French doors, simply buy two of our doors and have your carpenter hang them together in a French door configuration. Or, we can make things even easier and supply your doors pre-hung together in a frame, ready for installation. 🚪🚪
