In 1999 the Albury Gold Cup Wewak Street School Charity Luncheon Committee was formed, with a commitment to raising money on an annual basis to contribute to the needs of the Wewak Street School. In late 2013 the Committee decided to formalise and expand fundraising efforts of the Committee thus far and Gold Cup Charity Ltd was registered. The objectives of our charity are to generate funds for pr
ojects to benefit children with disabilities and special needs in the local area. The Committee is passionate about its objectives and thus continues to host an annual fundraising luncheon, which has grown into a prominent event in Albury-Wodonga social calendar. Proceeds raised to date have been used to buy equipment such as modified bikes, a wheelchair swing, a sensory garden with water feature, a swim spa and interactive whiteboard. Money has been pooled with other sponsors to purchase a bus, erect a shade cover for a basketball court, build a bus shed, renovate and extend an indoor spa area. The luncheon is held every year at the Albury Race Club. The date each year is the Thursday before Gold Cup Day in March. If you would like to contact our organisation please email [email protected]
