Postdoc position on the geological survey of the Quaternary successions of the CARG sheets 226 Cuneo and 243 Colle di Tenda.

The research project consists in the geological survey at a scale of 1:10,000 of the Quaternary successions outcropping in the CARG sheets 226 Cuneo and 243 Colle di Tenda and the creation of the related geological map.

Mandatory requirement for admission to the selection: italian Laurea Magistrale, or Laurea a Ciclo Unico, or an equivalent degree from foreign Universities, obtained no more than 6 years prior to the application deadline (i.e obtained after 09/06/2020). The Call for Applications (published on the University Bulletin Board under ref. no. 2560 of 19/05/2026), containing the procedures to participate in the selection process and the specific requirements for each selection, is available at https://webapps.unito.it/albo_ateneo/ .

Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Structural Geology

Located in the heart of Québec City, Université Laval offers a privileged living environment and is a comprehensive university recognised for its excellence in teaching and research.

The Department of Geology and Geological Engineering is seeking individuals with a strong research expertise in the field of Structural Geology. The selected candidate will be expected to teach in the department’s programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop a funded and innovative research program that complements the strengths of our programs.

(ii) A detailed curriculum vitae,
(iii) A short- and long-term research program proposal (4 pages),

🔎Topic: fault and fracture systems supporting geothermal exploration in the Swiss Molasse Basin.

The project combines regional data synthesis, conceptual modelling, and fieldwork on outcrop analogues to provide key insights and reduce uncertainty in multi-scale fault and fracture systems within target units of the Swiss Molasse Basin.

This 2-year position is jointly funded by GEOOL (Géothermie de l’Ouest lausannois) and the Canton of Vaud (DGE-GEODES), with the broader goal of supporting geothermal resources for district heating in Lausanne.
