I love what can be made from things we already have 🥰

I made 3 storage bins for my workshop which double as a mobile work bench/benches.

Here’s the latest one.

They’re all made from old washing machines and pallets ♻️🪚🔨😃

The whole purpose of Upcycled_QLD is to use as much unwanted construction waste and rubbish as possible to create anything useful that others can use (including myself) so that the amount of rubbish that humans keep burying in the ground or tipping into the ocean becomes less. I’ll do whatever I can to contribute to a more waste conscious society 🥰
This little project means now as I’m making things/ dismantling or sorting, I can sort correctly into my handy bins at arms reach then take these bins to the recycling depot and the scrap metal yard to dispose of/recycle it all properly. This gets me really excited. Recycling is so important for a sustainable world moving forward.
And solid beauty can be created from rubbish 🤌♻️🪚❤️

Anyone can do this, it’s a “2 birds 1 stone” scenario by where you do your bit for the environment and make a little cash. If it’s recycling or upcycling I’ll do it.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make you a new shoe cabinet and I’m so happy you like it ☺️

Ingredients:
Old bed frame off the side of the road
Big pallet off the side of the Motorway
More pallet timber left over down at the yard.
Thin ply board out of the skip from a renovation we did.
Brass handles off another cabinet I took apart.

This shoe cabinet only required a small amount of the timber from the pallets and the bed frame so I’ll be using the rest of it on other future projects.
Also when I de-nail them I collect all the nails and take them to scrap metal or reuse them so pretty much all of it is being recycled/upcycled 😃

I’m always amazed by how nice timber is under its external skin and the beautiful grains that pop when finely sanded.

This was a really fun project and I got to clean up the streets a bit too and save a couple things from ending up at the tip 🥰
